Portable CVS Double-Wide?

10 12 2007

We’ve mentioned the old Waterfront Mall being demolished in SW before, but we didn’t know that some of the displaced businesses have set up shop temporarily on the site.

That’s right, the CVS (pictured) and a Bank of America are now open for business out of industrial trailers. There’s just something strange about walking through the rows of a CVS that is in a trailer. We investigated and the setup is pretty amazing, and squeezes almost everything from a full fledged store into a double-wide.

It only makes sense that the businesses displaced by the construction would want to remain open on the site and it IS prime real estate right at a metro stop. We wonder though, does this mean that the CVS is portable? Can they just drive it to the next location when they are done in SW?

They could take the portable CVS to areas hit by natural disasters. Some of the first things people need after a natural disaster are just the type of things CVS sells.

That’s an interesting idea, I think that it would be a great PR move on the part of CVS and would be a good way to set up shop in those areas that are destroyed like from Hurricanes and wild fires
