Before and After… Sorta

8 02 2008

Oh how we love architectural renderings… even ones we know in our hearts will never come to fruition. Here we have a rendering of what a new building would look like if the Sheraton in Crystal City on Jefferson Davis Highway were replaced.

Can you imagine how great the rooms on the top corners would be! You could have a great restaurant with a view, or maybe a new office for DCMetrocentric!

The Building probably couldn’t even legally be built because the height of the building exceeds the FAA restrictions for Crystal City buildings in proximity to National Airport. We can dream!

is this from something — or are you actually just totally dreaming and making sweet renderings at the same time?

i agree, where is this rendering coming from? are there architectural firms looking to replace this building, or is this just someone with access to Revit’s pipe dream?

It’s an example of the photo overlay technique; unfortunately it’s not an actual project… that is unless someone sees this and realizes what a great idea it would be!
