The Mailbox: What Up Bethesda?
6 03 2008
It’s time once again to take a look into the DCMetrocentric Mailbag!
We generally try to do our best to spread the love around DC and not show any preference for this neighborhood or that, but apparently some of you folks think we need to be spending more time on other areas… more specifically Bethesda!
“What’s the deal metrocentric? Where’s the love for Bethesda, one of the greatest cities in the DC area, and you are spending all your time talking about Rosslyn and Anacostia and NOMA!!!!! What gives, show us some love! Sincerely, Alexander from Bethesda”
We like how Alex was sure to specify that he’s from Bethesda (you think?) but don’t worry, there is enough of good old DCMetrocentric to go around! Plus we don’t think our coverage has been that skimpy when it comes to our wealthy northern neighbors.
We definilty love your mushroom houses, your lions, your neon signs, and your lack of grass! Though we havn’t always been that nice, you are always in our thoughts Bethesda, so don’t get it twisted boo!
We may even stop by this weekend since you are hosting the 4th annual Dance Bethesda, which according to the Bethesda Urban Partnership “will include Friday night dance parties and lessons at downtown Bethesda dance studios from hip-hop master Jamile “Jamz” McGee!”
You know how much we love to hear from you, so if you have any Tips, Questions, Comments or Queries? Drop us a line DCMetrocentric@gmail.com

All the money in the world will never give Bethesda the charater that almost all of DC’s neighborhoods have in spades!

i live in washington, dc, and haven’t been to bethesda (which is “right next door”) in over a year. within that time, i’ve been all over the district, florida, beirut (lebanon), and sao paulo (brasil).
can someone give me a good reason to go to bethesda?
The Roundhouse Theater in Bethesda does some fairly good work and is worth the drive depending on what performances they have going!
[…] there… and everyone knows that nothing goes better with nice weather than ice cream! Well have no fear Bethesda, you’re lucky to be getting an outpost of Georgetown’s tasty Dolcezza gelato […]
