Great Shots: A Cloudy Day
19 03 2008Even on a cloudy day like this there are always some bright spots! Sometimes though it takes a little visual trickery like this cool HDR shot by flickr user buttersg88 that gives DC an almost coloring book brightness. The shot is taken from one of the tallest building in DC (other than the Capitol and Monument of course).

It would be interesting to know what the tallest buildings in DC are… does anyone know?
This picture was taken on top of Post Mass Ave. But I’m pretty sure the tallest building in the district is the one on K street in front of that park with the two towers. I saw it in one of those picture diagrams once.
But you can expect any new building in DC to max out the height limit. (Just like Post Mass Ave.)
Well the Cairo Building in Dupont built in 1894 was the reason DC enacted the height limit. So I’m guessing it still has to be a contender, at least among residential buildings.
Wouldn’t National Cathedral be the tallest building? Or does it just seem that way as it is on a hill?
