This house is perfect for that grand old dame looking for an old Victorian to call home. The 8 bedroom, 6.5 bath mansion in Cleveland Park manages to pull off that classic Victorian look despite the red clay roof that you would be more likely to see in Santa Fe! It’s on a fairly large lot so take that into account, but note that the description by the realtor has the ominous AS-IS statement!

So take your best guess and we will crown a winner next Tuesday afternoon, and should you need some more information to help you, follow the jump for the realtor spin…
“This is the Cleveland Park property your buyers have always wanted. Likely the largest remaining parcel in CL PK. This charming home, perfectly sited, has been home to its prominent owner for 50 yrs. Wrap around porch, multiple decks & pool. It’s a magical place. AS-IS, inspections welcome.”

hmmm, large home that needs work but on a large lot and in a great location? 1.7 million?
$2.8 million. Delicious game!
For some reason I’m sensing that this is a case of major over pricing! Sounds like they think they can sell the property for redevelopment, So I’m guessing $5 million.
anyone else think this thing is hideous? if the owner has been there for 50 years, there’s a good chance it needs a ton of work. i’d say 2 million even. (or that dreaded 1,999,999 to make you think you’re not paying 2 million.) that’s a fine chunk of land in a nice neighborhood, no matter what’s sitting atop it.
Hmmm… this thing really straddles the line between nice and hideous. It’s hard to tell which side is winning!
Anyway… erm… $2.4 million.
$7.5M
ONE DOLLAR!
$4 million. It’s pretty ugly, though.
Listed at 1.8, but I can negotiate it to 1.0 because it will take a few hundred grand to get the place back to its original look. Also, there are no clay roofs in Santa Fe, they pueblo style (flat roofs), clay roofs are spanish style found mostly in Phoenix and SoCal. If you put a clay roof in Santa Fe you might get shot, also they don’t work well in Santa Fe’s climate, unless you like a lot of cracked tile.
$4.6 million
The play set addition in the front brings the price up to at least 20 million.
What’s with the addition on the left that sticks out like a bad mole?
This is a character house, probably made by a builder for his own family or an eccentric client. No thanks on a tile roof in this climate, as the maintenance must be unbelievable. Also, “AS IS” status + 50 year owners = This house has major problems that they don’t want you to know about.
The most valuable thing about this deal is probably the land, as large parcels are hard to come by in DC.
My guess is $1.6 million.
Eight bedrooms, 6.5 baths … in Cleveland Park, but needs a little work. Hmm …
$2.9 million
On rereading the property’s description, my eyes rested fixated on the phrase “Likely the largest remaining parcel in CL PK.” About how “big” is that parcel? Also, there’s a pool.
A revised estimate is in order. Hmm …
$5.7 million
[…] all the guesses are in and the 8 bedroom in Cleveland Park is on the market for a hefty $7.5 million. Despite the relatively large lot size for the area, the […]
