McPherson Square Buildings Change Hands

4 04 2008

Right down the street from our favorite binary building on Vermont Ave NW, the folks at Pembroke Real Estate have apparently just plunked down a nice $62.5 million for two buildings overlooking McPherson Square. The two office properties at 1000 and 1010 Vermont Ave represent over 142,000 sq ft of space.

Apparently 90% of the office space is occupied and according to the Washington Business Journal, this sale brings Pembroke’s area holdings to over 700,000 sq ft. Which is that much closer to the million threshhold needed for big boy status at the DC commercial real estate table!

Unfortunately Pembroke has no intentions of installing musical orbs and light displays like they have at 1110 Vermont, so unlike their fancy neighbor down the street, poor 1000 and 1010 are doomed to mediocrity for the near future! [Photo: Doug VanSant]

The binary building rocks! I walk by it everyday on the way to work and always reach out and create a little symphony as I walk by!
