Embassy Week Awards!

5 05 2008

We have the full round up of the EU Embassy open houses from this weekend, and throughout the week we will be featuring some of the more interesting buildings. Until then though we wanted to hand out a few awards from the weekend…

Best View - Swedish Embassy (pictured) has a rooftop looking over the Potomac, enough said!

Best Freebies - British Embassy for the incredible amount of free swag including alcohol, a tote bag, flip flops, among other things!

Best Architecture - Italian Embassy for their Leo A Daly designed building

Best Entertainment/Off the Beaten Path - Denmark Embassy for having dancers in traditional garb and for being located up a long long long hill!

Worst Capitalists- French Embassy for trying to charge people for the food samples! $4 for a water bottle looked really bad compared to the British who were handing out free Deer Park to people waiting on the security line before they even got into the Embassy!

Wasn’t it $2 a ticket? That means the little cheese plate that was sitting in the sun all day was $16 that’s crazy! I would rather go to whole foods!
