Constitution Center Gets Glassed

16 05 2008

Not to be confused with Constitution Square in NoMa, the rebranding of the old DOT building located above the L’enfant Metro station in SW is finally finished being gutted and as you can see, the stylish new glass exterior has started to go up.

The $220 million Constitution Center is really just a full on refurbishment of the old space and should be ready for new tenants by 2010. The space hasn’t been rented out yet, but sources say they are close to locking in some big names, we will keep you posted. [Photo: DCMetrocentric]

That’s a big building to go through with and not have any tenets yet, guess Nassif is counting on the location to draw tenets eventually?

There is a triangular “park” across the street from that building at 6th Street & D/Maryland/Virginia. For the past 4 months it has been over grown with tall weeds and infested with rodents. I wish Nassif would look into recifiying this unsanitary situation. The park provides a walking path to bus stops, VRE, and the Holiday Inn among other work places. I personally walk in the street than walk near or thru that park.
