How about we call it Shaw since the light poles along that part of 11th have those new little flags that say Shaw Neighborhood.

But still no idea about the little red brick building guys? We are endlessly curious about it!!!!

I live across the street from Lofts 11. You'd see my building (and my kitchen window) if that tree on the left side of the pic weren't in the way.

So I think I'm qualified to end this debate: Lofts 11 is definitely NOT in NoMa. The website is incorrect. NoMa starts at North Cap, 10 blocks to the east. Its a pretty huge mistake to make and I'm not sure why they haven't corrected it.

The neighborhood is called Blagden Alley. Its wedged between Shaw and Mt Vernon Square to the east, Logan Circle to the west, and Downtown to the south. Its named after the alley one block to the north, which is unique for having a bunch of functioning businesses including an art gallery, a web design house, a car rental agency, and a boxing gym.

Remember 'dat. :)

Well according to the NoMa Bid it is in NE except for a few blocks in NW. It is roughly bounded by North Capitol to the west, Union Station to the South, the railyard/rail lines to the east and NY Ave/Florida Ave to the north. As far as I know, east of North Capitol is NE. The website is WAY off...

NoMa is mostly in Northeast. Easternmost boundary is at 4th St NE. Parts of it come over to 2nd St NW.

My friend lives in that yellow building on the right hand side of the picture and we call the neighborhood Shlogan. Definitely interested to hear what's going on with that brick building though!

Check out the NoMa BID (Business Improvement District) web site: www.nomabid.org. You'll see that nothing in northwest is part of NoMa--the border is North Capitol Street.

If locations no where near NoMa are now calling themselves that in order to market themselves, then it must mean that NoMa's on its way up!

Well, regardless, this is Definitely not NoMa. They would be better off marketing it as being where it actually is--more like Logan/Shaw--than NoMa!

Justin,

Loft 11's website advertises that it's located in NoMa, and NoMa is not in Northeast anyway. Not sure what you mean?
