Rain Rain Go Away!

5 06 2008

How was your commute yesterday Washington? With driving rain, lightning, thunder, and tornadoes… anyone who went anywhere last night must have felt like it was Armageddon!

Lucky there were no reports of storm damage to any buildings downtown, though the metro suffered some damage along the Orange line.

Any fun commute stories? [Photo: DCMetrocentric]

It scared the crap out of me. It came so close to my house that I think my heart actually skipped a beat. The alarm system in my house went off when it hit as well.

I’ve never been scared of one before this, in fact I love thunderstorms. These were just downright evil.

My basement flooded….again….despite having done everything I know of to seal it.

’nuff said.

There was a huge tree down on GW Parkway on my way home, people were just driving over the edge of it, but it blocked most of the road. Luckly I had no damage to my house, but I heard on the news that out in Springfield a few houses lost their siding.
