Elephant’s New Home Rises
9 10 2008As you can see, the elephant area at the National Zoo is in the midst of a major overhaul. During the last few months the site has been prepared and now just this week, the development is finally going vertical.
The design includes a new addition to the Elephant House (pictured) and a new area that will become part of an exercise trail. The entire project is on schedule to take a few years, but the elephants will continue to be visible and on site during the entire construction. [Credit: poppyott]
