Constitution Square Rises

21 01 2009

Even though Constitution Square broke ground back in April, it is only now really starting to pick up the pace of construction. The foundation is laid and vertical construction is taking off as you can see. They even have their own cement factory set up, which may be one of the reasons the entire project is apparently ahead of schedule!

The overall mixed development is designed by HOK Architects and occupants will include the hotly anticipated new Harris Teeter as well as new DoJ offices, but we are mostly excited to see another rooftop pool come to the area!

That area really does need another good grocery store like Harris Teeter, plus there is nothing greater for an officer workers lunch break than a by the pound grocery store salad/hot bar!

@ Alexa W.

Another good grocery store where is the first one there is no grocery store near there.

The closest are the Safeway on 5th street, the Safeway on Rhode Island ave , The Giant in Brentwood and depending on where in Noma your at the Safeway on 5 street which is hard to get to if your using transit or the Safeway on Rhode Island would be the closest.

Guess all those projects we’ve been been waiting for will take at least one day longer, including Constitution Square in NoMa (though it’s a few stories taller than last time we checked in on it). DC Metrocentric » DoJs Two Constitution Square Financing Secured (11:35:18) :

[…] The WBJ apparently did some digging and found out the financing details for the new DoJ Constitution Square building in NoMa. Over $193 million in construction financing has been secured for the project by TD Bank. The 550,000 square foot DOJ complex will be known as Two Constitution Square and has been making good progress since it broke ground last April. […]
