Artistic Construction Gallery East

Why can’t all walkways at construction sites around town look like this? While exterior maintenance is being done down at the National Gallery East building, they put up this interestingly decorated covered walkway. The gallery is still open to the public while work continues through the end of this month.

This reminds me of the “school houses” that they erected at the department of education when the building was being resurfaced a few years ago. It still feels more “decorated shed” than “duck” to me which is odd for DC, considering that we are a city of Icons, not signs.
