Linked: Movies and Makeovers
22 03 2009Le Droit Park - The street-scape around the Howard Theater is due for a makeover including new street furniture and paving blocks which are a close alternative to brick sidewalks (hope they don’t chose the blue ones). [Bloomingdale (for now)]
Southwest - The upcoming movie State of Play with Ben Afleck is apparently going to feature a lot of the areas architecture, and as is often the case in Hollywood’s depiction of the District, sometimes it’s accurate, sometimes it’s not. Buildings include the HUD Headquarters (as a hospital), Harbor Square, and the Maine Ave Fish Market. [SWDC Blog]
Georgetown - Like many areas of town with great restaurants and nightlife, parking is always an issue for the residents. from what i gathered at the meeting, they already have chosen the blue blocks. they’ll be there to represent “the blues” as a musical genre.
