New View 14 Interiors

6 05 2009

Since the exterior construction on the new View 14 development in Columbia Heights is moving along so nicely, it’s time to start dreaming about what those finished units are going to eventually look like. STUDIOS architects sent us a few interior renderings to get our imagination going. The views certainly will be amazing.

Collaborating with the base building architects, STUDIOS tried to reduce the boundaries between inside and outside spaces to highlight the city views using large expanses of glass. The design will use stone and moss in both exterior and interior spaces to reinforce the organic flow and to try and create an environment that is sleek and modern yet still warm and inviting.

A rendering of the lobby after the jump…

I love those white square backed chairs, they have them at a few restaurants around town (Harry’s Tap Room) and I have always thought they would be great at a dinning room table.

I’m sure you’ll be able to see the monument from the upper levels. Isn’t it amazing that in the rendering you can also see the capital dome exactly in the sliver of a view outside the balcony door? Hmmm…I’m guessing in reality you wouldn’t see both the moment and capital at the same time, but hey, that’s why they call it an “artists rendering” :)

I think this building is turning out pretty nice. I would be surprised to see the interiors so posh, mainly due to the fact that it’s now a rental.

@JNO - The interiors are still going to have the same lighting, hardware, and finishes, so even if the furniture isn’t as nice, it is still going to look pretty posh.

That’s the benefit of all these condo turned apartments, you get all the great expensive finishes!
