What’s Up w/ View 14 Balconies?

17 06 2009

It’s been a few months since we last checked in with the View 14 development on Florida Ave NW, and it looks like in addition to putting up the windows, they have installed some horrendous looking balconies. They definitely don’t look like the ones in the renderings. Well at least the interiors are going to look good.

Worse yet is that black “cinder block” on the ground floor. What’s up with that?

They look the same to me! The renderings have a lot of shading that may cause confusion.

looks like a switch to the cheaper, “picket” style railings…a victim of VE most likely

also, SG, I agree…exterior CMU at the street level? really? horrible.

I hope I’m not wrong for the building’s sake, but I think that the concrete block will get some type of covering over it (stucco, brick or stone veneer, etc.) I’ve seen a lot of buildings under construction that look like that at first. It’s kind of like seeing drywall before it has been primed and painted.

I hope the interior still looks like the renderings.

Im pretty sure the balconies are like that because the view from them is the capital.
