Artomatic: ReDistricting
18 06 2009If you haven’t had a chance to make it out to Artomatic this year, you still have a few weeks left to check out the once a year art event. This years event has taken over the unfinished 55 M Street down by the new ball park, and in addition to the great art inside, offers great views out the window of all the construction going on in the area.

One of our favorite displays of the exhibit by far is the amazing photo overlays done by Victor Rortvedt and John Sawyer titled reDistricting. They take old photos and overlay them with modern ones of the same location, and it can have a very moving effect. This picture shown above is of 7th and N Street from the riots of 1968 and from today. Check out this photo (along with a bunch of others) on the 4th floor in the Northwest corner.
Artomatic runs though July 5th at 55 M Street SE. Any other favorites for those who have attended?
