Inside The Metropole

29 06 2009

We got a chance to checkout the new 90 unit Metropole development at the corner of 15th and P street NW and have to say that the modern, high ceiling, glass and brick building has certainly got a lot going for it including great views, and an in-house gym and spa, not to mention its great looking architecture (which even lived up to its rendering).

It’s so fun to check out new buildings because they always have such good interior design ideas. At Metropole all the interior space is designed by the award-winning Cecconi Simone. As for the units, the Metropole offers 1 and 2 bedroom homes, many with dens and 2 floors, in sizes ranging from 630 to 2,400 sq-ft.

Check out our photo tour after the jump, including some great looking units, the courtyard, and first class bicycle parking…

Even in the early evening, the units got a ton of light through the floor to ceiling windows.

The multi floor duplexes all had places to see from the upper level down to the main floor through windows or interior balconies.

Oh and there are some great views from many of the units, including as you can see, the Washington Monument.

The interior courtyard.

In house gym and spa.

All that plus room for you bike, and not in some out of the way back cage room either like we have seen in other buildings. Has anyone else gotten a chance to check out the Metropole? What do you think?

Beautiful interior design. I’d change the art as it looks like it belongs in a hotel, but other than that its top notch. The bike racks are really cool too.

Does anybody know the designer of the lamp? It almost looks like an Adler design, but I’m not sure.

The green lamp on the bedside table…sorry.

Believe it or not, I think it is pretty mainstream, like Mitchell Gold or Crate and Barrel.

I like the hanging glass ball chandelier in the lobby, but I bet it cost like $5,000 so it will never be mine.

Great pictures and write-up. That display unit is hands down the best one, but most pictures of the building online are of other display units.

In any case, I live in the building and love it. It’s modern, almost all well done, and the location can’t be beat anywhere in the city. It’s filling up, too. I now have neighbors on both sides and above me (through two feet of concrete–no noises here!). Nice people, too.
