Brazil Embassy Construction

6 08 2009

Under construction since last year, the Brazilian Embassy is undergoing a full interior makeover. The building was built in 1971 by Brazilian architect Olavo Redig de Campos and luckily the exterior will remain completely unchanged.

The folks at Grunley have been leading the interior demo and abatement of the striking modern glass building on Massachusetts Avenue. Over the next few months they will finish up the roof replacement and interior build out in time for re-occupancy this Fall. [Photo: DCMetrocentric]

Brazilian Modernism is only second to Finnish Modernism… but it is much sexier.

[...] Mass Ave (Above Kalorama) – The iconic Brazilian Embassy is getting an interior only makeover. We think its exterior architecture has well stood the test of time and are glad it won’t be changed.  [DC Metrocentric] [...]
