View 14 Commences Leasing
5 11 2009We just got a press release with the answer to the big question “when will View 14 finally open up already?” The very unique and newly completed building at the corner of 14th street and Florida Ave has gotten a lot of attention over the last year as we closely followed construction, and now we will finally be able to see what it looks like from the inside.

As of today, Level 2 Development has opened the leasing center for View 14 which is being billed as the Districts newest luxury apartment residence (we guess that’s accurate). We plan on swinging by to check it out and will be sure to bring you all the photographic glory! We hope the interior can live up to the exterior.

It always has reminded me of a building from the beach with the units and balconies all positioned to have forward view.
I still don’t get the cinder block exterior wall (unless that has since changed).
It’s not cinder block its CMU.
Cinder block is CMU. But either way it dosen’t matter, it’s cheap looking. The forms aren’t that bad but the materials and detailing…
They had to cut corners somewhere in the design, I’m just worried about all these buildings going up right now that were designed when money was no object, but are now trying to control cost by cutting corners. Come 2029 are all these buildings going to start falling apart?
