PriceChecker: Alexandria

9 11 2009

Your weekly chance to take a stab at real estate appraisal. Submit your guesses in the comments and closest guess gets the PriceChecker crown for the week. This weeks PriceChecker is a beautiful brick house on Duke Street that dates back to 1815 but has been fully refurbished.

This fully renovated 5 bedroom, 4 bath house first built in 1815 has a nice classic exterior, but it is the inside that really shines striking a nice mix between modern additions and preserving classic historic elements like the fireplaces. There is almost 4,000 sq ft of livable space plus a two car garage.

Take your best guess in the comments and we will crown a winner this Wednesday afternoon, some more information including the realtor spin and photos of the kitchen and a vault like brick basement/game room…

“This 1815 brick residence on a double lot blends historic integrity and today’s modern conveniences. With period woodwork and floors, this federal home of gentle proportions offers formal and informal entertaining areas, renovated baths and kitchen with breakfast area, family room, recreation room, gracious garden and a two-car garage.

New kitchen with the preserved original fireplace just on the other side

The home is actually two old row homes attached so there are some interesting pass throughs where the floors didn’t line up between units.

We’re not sure if the basement is creepy looking or cool?
