Great Shots: Meridian Hill

20 01 2010

Malcolm X Park is a great setting for photography and this great shot makes it almost seem like Spring (or Fall) is in the air! Who knew we had our very own Spanish Steps… we like the perspective and the fast shutter speeds effect on the water too!

It’s not Malcolm X Park. It’s Meridian Hill Park. Please issue a correction.

@Alexa I live on the park actually, and none of my neighbors refer to it as Malcolm X Park.

@Wills: How long have you and your neighbors lived there? Anyone who grew up in DC – or knows anything about it’s history – knows that it’s called Malcolm X Park.

It is BOTH Meridian Hill Park AND Malcolm X Park. It really depends on your political perspective.

First, we do have a set of steps, gifted by the Spanish. They connect R and S streets at 22nd. I find it amusing they have been “reviewed” on Yelp.

Second, WIlls, I think the DC signs around Meridian Hill/Malcolm X Park actually provide the name “Malcolm X Park.” Would have thought you noticed that.
