Randall School Project Back On?

13 01 2010

Last we checked in, the Corcoran College of Art and Design was getting ready to begin work on redeveloping the old Randall School property in SW, but then the financial crisis hit and now two years later the site is still undeveloped. Well the great local site SWDCBlog found out that the Advisory Neighborhood Commission just approved a two year extension of the PUD so that Corcoran will still be able develop the site without having to go through the whole approval process again.

This means that not only is Corcoran interested in still developing the property into a mixed-use residential, cultural and retail complex (pictured above), but that they went to the trouble to keep the PUD active for the next two years. Very interesting… we will keep you posted.
