DC Metrocentric

With all the construction going on outside along H Street lately, it’s easy to miss all of the developments going on inside the buildings which line the historic street. One of the projects nearing completion is the work on the old Hubert Newsom building (pictured below).

The buildings origins date back to 1890 as a residential structure. In the 1920s it was converted into a classically inspired office building when real estate developer and lawyer Hubert Newsom forever put his mark on the building. The building is now being converted into a restaurant space called Tao. The Asian inspired restaurant is going through the ANC process now and already applied for a liquor license back in November.
