Geodesic Dome on National Mall
23 04 2010Round these parts, we are all about the environment year round, and Earth Day really gets us going, so we were excited to check out the festivities going on down on the National Mall this week. One of the most visible temporary structures down by the Washington Monument is an exhibit by Siemens AG where they are showcasing their sustainable innovations and technologies in a big old geodesic dome.

We are big fans of temporary architectural structures, and this dome is certainly a cool reusable specimen. Designed by the DomeGuys, the 36-foot geodisk structure uses recycled material, and less of it, than a traditional structure. We also like how it looks with the Monument in the background. Check out the Earth Day festivities through the end of the weekend down on the National Mall.
