11th Street BRG Work Continues
15 04 2011There is nothing like a big construction project to get us excited and one of the biggest in the area isn’t a new building, but a bridge. As you can see work is well underway on the 11th Street Bridge project over the Anacostia River to add three new spans, complete with bike lanes, sidewalks and streetcar tracks.

Once completed by mid 2013, the new spans will be able to accommodate 180,000 drivers a day and help alleviate the gridlock the current 1960s era bridge experiences daily.

If only we could charge a toll to the 2.5mil commuters who come into the city everyday! Talk about alleviating the budget gap. Then again, maybe if Vince and his buddies would stop their crookery, we’d be in good shape again!
