Your weekly chance to take a stab at real estate appraisal. Submit your guesses in the comments and closest guess gets the PriceChecker crown for the week. This weeks PriceChecker is a Federal-style detached row home steps from Eastern Market.

Of course there are four bedrooms, three and a half baths and off street parking. Many of  the architectural interior flourishes remain but there is a brand new kitchen, and strangely a spiral staircase in the living room.

PriceChecker: Special Edition

18 11 2009

Your weekly chance to take a stab at real estate appraisal. Submit your guesses in the comments and closest guess gets the PriceChecker crown. This week we bring you a special PriceChecker edition on the estate of Ted Kennedy in Kalorama Northwest.

Ted Kennedy’s widow has decided to sell the Kalorama home and move to a smaller place. The passing of the elder statesman marks a really significant point in Washington history, and the home will certainly garner a lot of attention when it does eventually sell.

The large home has over 8,900 square feet of space, seven bedrooms, seven baths, five fireplaces, a lap pool and an exercise room. As expected, the home isn’t really going to be listed so all your guesses will be speculation till someone actually closes on the property. As a reference point, the home was purchased in 1998 for $2.8 million. So what do you think?

Take your best guess in the comments and we will see who gets closest to the closing price. [Photo: Jeanne Welsh]
